Why the discomfort?

The word “engagement” in everyday use means a transaction between two people, leading to some form of outcome. In fact, it comes from the French “engager”, meaning “to pledge”. Our key concern is that at the heart of most people’s approaches to “engagement” is a transactional not a transformational mindset.

It’s about having the capability to involve, inspire and inform your people and your networks on a journey towards unparalleled success. How you do this will evolve over time, there’s no one size fits all approach. This is a capability and a capability requires:

  • the capacity to use the processes, and
  • a supportive climate.
