Why the discomfort?
The word “engagement” in everyday use means a transaction between two people, leading to some form of outcome. In fact, it comes from the French “engager”, meaning “to pledge”. Our key concern is that at the heart of most people’s approaches to “engagement” is a transactional not a transformational mindset.
